The driver of a black Chevrolet pickup truck fell asleep at the wheel causing his truck to veer into oncoming traffic where it hit a car with three juvenile females inside, police say.
According to the Harrisville Police Department, the collision happened at 12:29 p.m. at 1225 North Washington Boulevard.
Police say the truck was headed north on Washington Blvd. when it veered into oncoming traffic hitting a Subaru passenger car which was headed south on Washington Blvd.
Three juvenile females were inside the Subaru and all were taken to area hospitals with unknown injuries. The pickup truck driver was also taken to the hospital.
Police say the pickup truck driver admitted to falling asleep at the wheel.
The investigation is ongoing and this story is still developing. 2News will provide updates as they happen.
